God has given me a loving and forgiving heart. I am married to a wonderful man, we have five grown daughters and eight beautiful grandchildren. I love being a support system to my husband, family, extended family, my friends and each task I undertake, be it work or play. I enjoy seeing the growth of people over the years. Each change in small or large ways, none has stayed the same.

I have done many things, mostly revolving around small children, teen’s, and young adults. I guess most of it centered around the age of my girls. Now they are all grown up and living lives of their own. We encourage them to live their lives as their own, not for us or anyone else. We want them to have self-esteem, courage, and share their love with others. Now, our girls live in four states.

Our grandchildren are spread out, but our love is with them always. When I am doing my Blessings each night, I send them to all the grand-babies and girls. Each has a life to live, each has lessons to learn, each will become whom they choose to be, with God’s grace. I will be there for them to give support and encouragement.

I would have to say one of my gifts is in the helping field. I have worked in schools, with Child Protective Services, Battered Women, as well as a rape crisis hotline, and in the DA’s office with victim’s assistance. Helping others has been very rewarding. I have loved being and working in service oriented areas and jobs. I guess this is where I would have to say my passions are.

I have had many things happen in my life and choose to find the good in any given situation. Be it broken relationships, floods, tornadoes, death in the family, divorce, bankruptcy, loss of a home, or moving to a new area. Each of these things have taught me lessons. Be it the lessons I was to learn, or one of my family members had to learn. God gives us only what we can deal with. I have drawn strength from each adventure in my life. I look forward to the journey I am traveling and where it will take me.

I have been writing poetry from the time I was a teen. But never thought of myself as a writer, though I had been writing for years. Then with my first grandchild, a story just came to me one day about her in our garden. That is when the idea of writing a book came about. Funny how things work out. I am putting together a book of poems, working on an autobiography, and just moving forward in life to the best of my abilities.
